The Duke of Lancaster, who rebelled seeking independence from the empire, was brought down by the hands of the emperor's loyal knight, Laslo Krissus. The one who was captured in disgrace was the young and beautiful Duchess of Lancaster, Edele Lancaster. Presented as a 'ruins of war' before the nobles, the emperor bestowed her upon Laslo Krissus, who claimed to need a maid. Determined to take her own life before suffering any humiliation as Laslo's 'possession', Edele is surprised when Laszlo instead hires her as an actual maid, giving her tasks to fulfill. However, to the once-perfect duchess, the Count of Krissus estate appears extremely disorganized. As the former 'Duchess', now the new maid, Edele begins to gradually transform the Krissus estate.
